Fairmount Receives State Recognition
Fairmount has been recognized by the School Board of Education for Closing Gaps in the 2022-23 school year by making significant progress in areas that were previously identified for improvement. I am incredibly proud of the hard work the staff and students at Fairmount commit to daily. Our mission is ensuring that every student has an opportunity to Achieve their Highest Potential in a safe, caring, inclusive learning community.

The data utilized for this recognition is ELA and Math Assessments (SBA), English Learner Progress (WIDA), and graduation rate (does not apply to Fairmount). Please note, the data from the 2023-24 school year has not yet been compiled. For more information on Fairmount’s performance on the Washington School Improvement Framework please visit OSPI Report Card

A Note From the Principal
Fairmount Families,

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving break. I am thankful to work at Fairmount. One of my favorite ways to start my day is greeting students in the morning, as I am very grateful for their energy and joy.

I wanted to give you a heads up that I will be on leave for surgery starting December 6 until we return from break on January 6, 2025. Im the meantime, I would like to introduce Julie Echols, who will be the substitute principal during my leave. She has over 6 years of experience as an administrator and has supported several districts in our area.

Kim Williams, our Dean of Students, will also be here to support you and your child if needed. And of course, our amazing office staff is always helpful. If you need anything, please call the school office at
425-366-2900.

I wish you all a wonderful holiday season, and a fun-filled two-week break from school. I will miss seeing all the students in the morning, but will be back in January ready to greet them again.

Sincerely,
Bente Klatt
