Fairmount Friday Forum - 6/5
Mrs. Klatt and Mrs. Williams fired up the grill to treat our students to a special end-of-year barbeque! Students enjoyed hot dogs, fresh fruit, and cookies!

Thank you, Mrs. Klatt and Mrs. Williams for grilling hot dogs for our students, it was the perfect way to celebrate the end of the school year! We also want to extend a big thank you to our kitchen staff for their hard work in helping make this event such a success.

4th & 5th Grade Band and Orchestra Concert Highlights

Last night, our 4th and 5th grade students took the stage for their end of the year Band and Orchestra Concert, and they did an amazing job showcasing all of their hard work, growth, and musical talent. We are so proud of their dedication and performance!

A huge thank you to Mr. Gross for his passion, dedication, and commitment to teaching music and inspiring our young musicians. His guidance and encouragement have helped our students develop not only their musical skills but also their confidence and love of music.

Museum on the Go
A teacher leads a group of young students sitting on a colorful rug in a classroom.

Thank you to Boeing, through the Mukilteo Schools Foundation, for sponsoring the grant that brought Museum on the Go to our school! We are grateful for this opportunity to provide our students with engaging, hands-on learning experiences that inspire curiosity and discovery.

Students participated in the "Museum on the Go" Tree Treasures Experience.
This was a culminating experience to our most recent science unit: Earth's Changing Landscapes

Besides completing fun, hands-on experiments that related to our science standards, we reviewed and learned new vocabulary and concepts, as well.

Some of the highlights included:
- identifying broad leaves vs. needle leaves
- tracing our hands to represent trees (both above and below the ground)
- investigating "tree cookies" (using a magnifying class to explore the rings on trees)
- making our own recycled paper
