Principal for the Day Highlights!

Foster did an outstanding job as our Principal for the Day! He helped with recess duties, assisted during lunch, and organized yearbooks for students.

One of the highlights of his day was enjoying a delicious lunch with Mrs. Klatt.

Way to go, Foster! You were an amazing Principal for the Day, and we appreciate all of your hard work and leadership!

Smarter Balance Testing!

Smarter Balance Testing!
This Spring, students in grades 3rd, 4th and 5th will take the Smarter Balanced tests in Math and English Language Arts. Students in grade 5 will also take the Washington Comprehensive Assessment of Science (WCAS). The results from these tests will give a more accurate picture of whether students are on track to be ready for college or career. Students will take the SBA and WCAS tests online.

Fairmount is scheduled to test:
  • 3rd: SBA-Math: June 2-June 3
  • 4th: SBA-Math: June 2-June 3
  • 5SBA-Math: June 2 - June 3
  • Mr. Peterson: SBA -Math: June 1- June 2
  • Ms. Drake: SBA-Math: June 1- June 2

To help your child be successful, please make sure they do the following:
  • Go to bed early and get plenty of rest each night.
  • Eat a nutritious breakfast each morning.
  • Be at school on time, every day, ready to show what you know.
  • Do their best but don’t worry or be overly anxious about the test.
  • Please schedule any appointments after testing. To avoid interruptions in the class while students are testing.
Please contact Mrs. Williams, Dean of Students, with questions you may have regarding SBA testing.

Summer is coming up quickly, and with more free time many parents struggle to manage how much time kids spend on screens. The Summer Screen Time Guide: 9 Ways to Set https://gozen.com/summer-screen-time-guide-9-ways-to-set-limits-and-skip-the-fights/
provides some helpful advice for setting limits on screen time. If you have questions, please feel free to reach out to Megan De Robertis, our school counselor, by Parent Square or by phone at 425-366-2968.
