Fairmount's Annual Spring Concert!

Last night was the annual 1st & 2nd Grade Spring Concert, and the students did an amazing job showcasing all of their hard work. A huge thank you to Mr. Gross for his passion, dedication, and commitment to teaching music and helping grow our young musicians.

Smarter Balance Testing!

This Spring, students in grades 3rd, 4th and 5th will take the Smarter Balanced tests in Math and English Language Arts. Students in grade 5 will also take the Washington Comprehensive Assessment of Science (WCAS). The results from these tests will give a more accurate picture of whether students are on track to be ready for college or career. Students will take the SBA and WCAS tests online.

Fairmount is scheduled to test:
  • 3rd: SBA-ELA: May 18 - May 20 and SBA-Math: June 2-June 3
  • 4th: SBA-ELA: May 19-May 21 and SBA-Math: June 2-June 3
  • 5th: WCAS-Science: May 19 and SBA-ELA: May 26 – May 27 and SBA-Math: June 2 - June 3
  • Mr. Peterson: SBA-ELA: May 4, 5 & 7 and SBA-Math: June 1- June 2 and WCAS-Science: May 11
  • Ms. Drake: SBA-ELA: May 4, 5 & 7 and SBA-Math: June 1- June 2

To help your child be successful, please make sure they do the following:
  • Go to bed early and get plenty of rest each night.
  • Eat a nutritious breakfast each morning.
  • Be at school on time, every day, ready to show what you know.
  • Do their best but don’t worry or be overly anxious about the test.
Please contact Mrs. Williams, Dean of Students, with questions you may have regarding SBA testing.

Fairmount Dress Code

Student Dress Code

  • Fairmount Elementary respects students’ rights to express themselves in the way they dress. All students who attend Fairmount Elementary are also expected to respect the school community by dressing appropriately for a K-5 educational environment. This policy is intended to provide guidance for students, staff, and parents.

See above Minimum Requirements:

Shoes must be always worn and should be safe for the school environment.
See-through or mesh garments must be worn with appropriate coverage underneath that meet the minimum requirements of the dress code.

Additional Requirements:
  1. Clothing may not depict, imply, advertise, or advocate illegal, violent, or lewd conduct, weapons, or the use of alcohol, tobacco, marijuana, or other controlled substances.
  2. Clothing may not display or imply vulgar, discriminatory, or obscene language or images.
  3. Clothing may not state, imply, or depict hate speech/imagery targeting groups based on race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, religious affiliation, or any other protected classification.
  4. Sunglasses may not be worn inside the building.
  5. Clothing and accessories that endanger student or staff safety may not be worn.
